A presentation by Paul showing Yellowstone National Park in winter. He illustrates examples of the conditions and wildlife he encountered during this season.
Jan 26 WIDE OCEAN Barry & Jean Cade
Wide Ocean tells the story of how their use of wide-angle photography underwater progressed over the years they were diving. It draws on images from the Caribbean and from the far east, illustrating some of the challenges of lighting and composing interesting images of the underwater tropics.

Mar 09 NIGHT PHOTOGRAPHY/LIGHT PAINTING Grahame Dunkin
Night Photography, a presentation by Grahame, which incorporates light painting of various subjects.

Mar 23 FIRST AGGREGATE COMPETITIONS Nick Ayers ARPS BPE3. (changed judge)
The first aggregate competitions of the year which will be spread over two separate evenings. Scores will be accumulated from each evening. We will enjoy the return to both a Print competition and a Pdi competition.
Apr 20 IS PHOTOGRAPHY ART? Trina Fitzalan-Howard MA
A lighthearted romp through the topic that keeps us awake. Guaranteed not to answer it but to lead you to your own conclusions and widen your view of art (perhaps). Some adult themes, so unsuitable for under 16’s. Audience participation encouraged.
Apr 27 100 STRANGERS Phil Howcroft
Phil approaches strangers and asks permission to take their photo and tells the story behind the photo and the story behind the stranger. Street photography and portraits come together for some interesting stories. An eclectic mix of people photos reflecting the diverse world we live in.
May 11 SHOW & TELL
Members will be given the opportunity to present an image and if they choose, provide an insight into how and perhaps why it was captured or created. Further they can illustrate their use of post-production techniques. Images may be in either print or pdi format.

May 25 THEMED COMPETITIONS “GARDENS” Jorj Malinowski
The second themed competition of the year which as usual will comprise two separate competitions, Prints and Pdi’s.
Jun 08 HANDBOOK COVER IMAGES SELECTIONS & EVENING SUMMER BUFFET
The annual search of Members’ images to appear on the covers of next year’s Handbook. Members attending can choose from images presented on the night which best illustrate the Club.
The evening will also include the traditional summer buffet, although this year sees a further meeting before the summer break.
Jul 06 LPA PRINT BATTLES 3RD ROUND – “HOME ROUND” John Wilcox LRPS CPAGB
This year’s home round which we host at our usual venue. We welcome our competitor for the evening, Skegness CC.

Sep 07 MY APPROACH TO JUDGING Colin Lusby CPAGB
This is how Colin approaches judging club competitions from the initial approach from the club right the way through to the final decision on the night. What he is looking for in a photograph and how he makes his decisions. He uses illustrations from his own work so as not to offend anyone and there will be time for members to try their hand at judging. He will bring along his own prints for this activity.
Sep 21 WHERE I PHOTOGRAPH WILDLIFE ABROAD Malcolm Hupman
When he goes on holiday, Malcolm looks for places to photograph wildlife. This talk shows a broad range of subjects and the locations where they were found. All images have been taken while on holiday in Europe, the Canary Islands and Sri Lanka. He shows where they were taken, the equipment used and the camera settings. The talk contains 167 different species at 48 different sites with maps and details of the best time to go.

Oct 05 BIRCHGROVE NATURE CHALLENGE COMPETITIONS John Whaler
This commemorates the many years Birchgrove Garden Centre hosted the Club’s meetings. The competition is not subject to the traditional definition as in “Natural History” but may include most things in nature. It will comprise two separate competitions, Prints and Pdi’s.
Oct 19 BRITISH BIRDS AND A FEW SETTINGS Grahame Dunkin (Changed Lecturer)
During the evening, Grahame will show you the gear that he uses for his wildlife photography, show images of the birds that he has taken and give an explanation of his field work and some settings to assist everyone to get started in bird photography.
Nov 02 EVERY PIXEL TELLS A STORY – PART 2 Neil Smith
A collection of local wildlife images taken during 2020 – 2021, including birds, insects and landscapes.

Nov 16 FINAL AGGREGATE COMPETITIONS Susan Wilson DPAGB BPE3* (Changed Judge)
The final evening of the score aggregation competitions held in the year. This will include both a Print competition and a Pdi competition.
Nov 23 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
A review of the Club’s year, consideration and planning for the future and a chance for Members to raise matters as appropriate. Election of Officers for the Management Committee plus additional Committee Members as required, with new post holders taking up positions from the following 1st January.
Nov 30 AFFINITY PHOTO 2 Colin Lusby CPAGB (changed lecturer)
For those that don’t know the programme, Colin will be giving a basic introduction to using Affinity Photo 2, looking at some of the tools and other features that it has to offer. Additionally, he will show you how you can use some of the programmes features in your own photography.
Dec 14 ANNUAL AWARDS PRESENTATIONS & BUFFET/DINNER
The year’s final meeting when the Club’s Annual Awards will be presented during a social evening. Venue and further details to be announced nearer the time.
